Making rolls for daddy

For Valentines day I made some pink cinnamon rolls for Stephen and Joseph. So Wednesday Joseph asked if we could make some more rolls. We got out the ingredients (Jiffy mix and milk) and made some rolls. He decided that he wanted the rolls blue and the icing green. He loved helping and is now constantly asking if he can make rolls. I got some yeast so we can make some real rolls next time. Anyone has a good roll recipe that is relatively easy?

An update on Aaron. He is now crawling on his hands and knees, until he slips and then it is back to an army crawl. He is also pulling himself up to a standing position. He is getting so big and so proud of himself about standing. Just look at that smile. Also here are just a couple of cute random pictures. We had our friends the Tibbs over. Aaron's friend Lucy just sat on Aaron's lap. Also here is a picture of Joseph helping his dad putting up his basketball hoop.

Aaron's new stats

We just got back from Aaron's 9 month appt and here are his stats.

Height 69 cm (50th percentile)
Weight 19lbs 15.5 oz (20th percentile)
Head circumference 47 cm (75th percentile)

These are a drop from his last appointment but the Doctor was not worried. He is very healthy and happy. He is doing great!

Joseph came with Aaron and I to the appointment. He had to get his chicken pox vaccine again. Apparently the one they gave him at 12 months was from a bad lot. He didn't like the supprise, but loved the Lighting McQueen stickers the nurse gave him.

The Vanentine Card

I just notice that the card was partially obscured in the slide show. So here it is.

My Valentine

Stephen gave me the best gift for Valentines this year. A beautiful portrait session of the boys and a card with their pictures. Thank you so much sweetie. I love the pictures. And I love the subjects

Oh no. He is moving!

Well Aaron has finally figured it out. He has started doing the combat crawl. It is all down hill from there. He has been rocking on his knees for quite a while. But he is so happy to be able to get around. Note that in the video he is not coming to see his Mommy but to eat some puffs. He is all boy. The way to his heart is through his stomach. Speaking of babyfood, a friend of mine has pointed out a new baby treat that her daughter loves. So I got some for Aaron and he absolutely loves it. They are called Baby Mum-mums. They come in veggie and rice flavors. I know they are at Walmart. I'm not sure if they are at Smiths. They are located right next to the puffs.
Sorry that Joseph is screaming through the video. He loves the spaceship that Stephen made for him out of a cardboard box. We had to put holes in his spaceship so that we could use his tools that he got for Christmas to fix the spaceship.

Draper Temple open hosue

Yesterday we had the opportunity of going to the Draper Temple open house. It was a beautiful experience. If anyone has the time and ability to go I would recommend it. We went to a church house near the Temple first. There they showed a short video on Temples and the city of Draper. Then they bus you over to the Temple. This was Joseph's first bus ride. He was so excited to ride on a bus. Once you get to the Temple you walk through a heated tent to the door. The interior of the Temple is absolutely breathtaking. The first part of the Temple you go to is the Baptistery. While there Stephen showed Joseph the picture of the Baptistery in his brochure about the Temple. He was so excited to see a picture of what he was standing right in front of. The rest of the time in the Temple he was always trying to find the picture of the room we were in. We joked that he was giving himself the self guided tour. The last room you go into is a sealing room. There two hosts of the Temple tours bore their testimony. You could really feel the Spirit all around the Temple. After you were done touring the Temple they directed you to the Stake Center that was built right next to the Temple. There they had cookies and missionaries there to answer questions. Joseph really liked that they had cookies. Then it was another bus ride back to the car. Joseph thought he had died and gone to heaven, a cookie and two bus rides.
After the Temple we went out to lunch as a family to Zupas. This is one of my favorite places to eat so it was quite a treat.
I am so thankful for Temples and the sealing power so I can be with my family through this life and beyond.

Recent events

Sorry it has been a while since we have posted last. Things have been crazy and kids have been sick. So here are a few things that have happened recently.

We have finally closed on our old house! Things took a little longer than planned because of a glich with the buyers financing. But it is great to have sold the house. It is strange to realize that we no longer have that house though. It was our first home and we have so many wonderful memories there. We just hope that the people who bought the house will enjoy it.

The next part is a Josephism. Today on our way to the closing we needed to eat and didn't have time to make lunch so we went to Wendy's. We thought that Joseph would enjoy some chicken nuggets so we got some for him. When I tried to give him the nuggets he said that he didn't want chicken he wanted a Cheese burger. Luckily Stephen had gotten a Junior bacon cheeseburger and was willing to switch. After Joseph ate about 2/3rds of the burger he handed it back to me and asked for his chicken nuggets. Stephen had already eaten the nuggets so I told Joseph they were gone. He didn't believe me so I showed him the empty container. Jospeh had a look of complete shock on his face. "They're gone? You ate them? You ate my chicken nuggets?!? Give them back!!!" By this time Stephen and I were laughing so hard we were nearly crying. Joseph was really upset. Joseph was going to stay at Grammie Bair's while we closed on the house. So we called her and asked her to make some chicken nuggets for him. She was already making some for Joseph and his cousin Jacob. Crisis averted.

Another Josephism. The other day Joseph came up to Stephen holding his mini magna doodle. Joseph asked Stephen what he wanted. Stephen was a little confused. Then Joseph asked if he wanted a Cheeseburger. Stephen said that he did. Joseph scribbled on his magna doodle and went to his kitchen (Aaron's exersaucer). He then made Stephen the best toy cheeseburger he ever had.

The last little bit of news is a Aaronism. We have been teaching Aaron baby signs. We did baby signing with Joseph and it worked very well, so we decided to teach Aaron too. Well today he started signing back to us. He now signs "light". That was Joseph's first sign too. We are also working on "more" and "all done".
