Happy Birthday Joseph!

Four years ago today we were headed to the hospital to have our beautiful baby boy. We named him Joseph. Here he is just a few days old.
Joseph a week old. We like to call this the touchdown pose. This also shows how much hair he had at birth.
The first time I caught him smiling on camera. About 2 1/2 months.

Wearing a suit that daddy wore as a child. About 5 months old.

In Grammy Bair's chair.
He loves to swing and slide.

Just look at that face. Sooo cute!

His first birthday on his way up to see Grandma and Grandpa Michaelis in Montana.

All dressed up for church.
Our trip to California when he was a year old.
Chocolate Pudding need I say more.
He loves to cuddle.

He loves to play with his cousins. He also loves to be pulled in the wagon.

He looks like such a gentleman in this outfit.

When he broke his arm by falling of Mommy and Daddy's bed. A little before his second birthday.

He loves to mini golf.

Here he is with his new baby brother, Aaron. He wasn't sure at first what to think of him but now they are the best of friends.

Joseph and his cousin Gage. Only 3 weeks apart in age. And very good buddies if you can't tell.

I just love this shot of Joseph. It just shows his sweet smile.

Happy fourth Birthday Joseph! We love you!

24th of July

Ashlynn, Michael, Aaron and Matthew. Aaron was playing with the cars and the other decided to help.

We celebrated the 24th with the Bair Clan at Grammy and Grandpa Bair's house. It was a great chance for the cousins to run and play. Plus we got dinner and fireworks. It was a great evening for all.

Joseph playing with the bulldozer. Grammy was nice enough to let the boys play at the edge of her garden. The boys just loved playing in the dirt.

Max playing with the dump truck.

Max is all ready to play in the garden.
Joseph digging in Grammy's garden. Be careful of the plants!

All ready for fireworks!
Max showing Aaron his toy.

Aaron wanting his favorite toy, a cell phone. This time it was Desi's.

Grammy and Grandpa let everyone pick a couple of fireworks to be theirs. The older kids got to light their fireworks. The younger kids just got to watch their fireworks, but it was still theirs.

Ruth is ready with her fireworks.
Matthew is very excited about his fireworks. Jacob not so much.

At the end of the day all Aaron wanted to do was to have a drink and cuddle with Daddy.

Picnic with Grammy and Grandpa Bair

On the 18th of July we decided to go for a family picnic. We called Stephen's parents to see if they wanted to join in the fun. This way we also had an excuse to go to a park in West Jordan that I had heard a lot about. We grabbed dinner from KFC and everyone enjoyed it (it was combined with A&W so we got some good root bear too!). After dinner it was time to play at the playground.

They had plenty of baby swings. Most parks only have 1 or 2 so you usually have to wait for one. But not this park they had at least 8 of them. No wait. It was great.

And as you can see Aaron loves to swing!

Grammy Bair took Joseph around the park. They have lots of cool things to play in. His favorites were the boat.

And the Train!

We were going to have pudding for dessert, but realized that we didn't have spoons. So we went back to Grammy and Grandpa's house to have dessert. The boys also got to play on the tramp. They love playing on the tramp as long as they are the only ones on there.

All the boys chilling on the swing.

To the Zoo with Sandy

My old room mate and Stephen's third cousin, Megan, and I have been talking for a while how we need to get together and go to the zoo. After months of talking we finally went in July. When we got in there I saw the lion water fountain. I had to take Joseph's picture while he was drinking from the water fountain.
Joseph was really excited to see the elephants.Aaron just wanted to know what it was he was supposed to be looking at.Here is Sandy, Joseph and Aaron in front of the Elephants. Here is Sandy with the Zebras. Here is Sandy, Joseph and Aaron in front of the animals that Joseph would not stop talking about at home. The Giraffes! Here are Joseph, Aaron and Sandy with the Cammels.
By luck we were there on the day that they introduced a new snow leopard cub. That was fun to be one of the first people to see the cub.
We had such fun time at the Zoo with our friends Megan and Sandy. It was Joseph first trip to the Hogel zoo and Aaron's first trip to a zoo.

Bair Family Reunion

This year we were able to go to the Bair Family Reunion. It was held on a Saturday in July. Stephen doesn't often have Saturdays open in the summer, but this one was open so we decided to go. The last time we went Joseph was 9 months old. So it has been a few years. We started the morning with kids games.

The first was passing a balloon up and down the line both under the legs and over the head.

Here are Aaron, Grammy Bair, Max, Aunt Miriam and Ruth watching the action.

Here is Audry passing a wet sponge to Joseph. Ashlynne is behind Joseph waiting for the sponge. They took the wet sponge from the front of the line and passed it all the way back to the end of the line where the last kid would squeeze all the water into a container and run to the front of the line to start the sponge again. A lot of the water never made it to the end of the line because the kids kept sqeezing the sponge on the next kid.

Here is a game played with a cup attached to the foot. I didn't witness this game so I have no idea how it was played.

Here is Aaron with Grandpa Bair.

They also got to play water balloon volleyball. Or at least they passed it back and forth between two towels.

They also had a fun craft for the kids. They could decorate a hat, frame or bookmark. Here is Joseph showing off the hat that he did.
After the games were done the kids all got prizes. Joseph got a kite. Here he is ready to fly his kite.

Daddy put it in the air. This is a very good kite. It stayed up in very little wind and also would sometimes get up into the air on its own.

Max had a turn flying the kite too.

Some of the cousins put some stickers on Aaron's face. The AB on his forhead stand for Aaron Bair. Then they put a C on his nose to continue the alphabet.

After the games they had a silent and live auction to raise money to pay for next year's reunion. Then we had a wonderful lunch. Both the boys ate pretty well. After lunch everyone started to pack up and leave. We decided to fly the kite one more time. Aaron really liked watching the kite fly up in the air.

The two cutest kite flyers.
